Fertility, regeneration and the principal of eternal recurrence permeates Ezhilarasan's work, as undulating allegories of the cycle perpetuating Eros stream forth as the essence of youth and its tenuous membrane of stimuli and sensation, glistening like pearls strung out endlessly through time and space. Loos dared to state that all art was fundamentally erotic and could be reduced to the horizontal female and the vertical male symbols, symbolically depicted in India through the vertical male ‘Linga’ and horizontal female ‘Yoni’.

Non-illusionist fragmented surfaces and diverse planes of colour, haunting misogyny’s and androgynous distortions abound. Ezhilarasan's work is modern and innovative, yet classical and refined. A formula in which the boundaries between Indian and Western art dissolve, a formula which, as Mattise said, combines "old truths in new light because there are no new truths."
